WINEMAKING NOTESOur 2024 Viognier is sourced from two distinctvineyards in the Yakima Valley AVA: Red Willow onthe far western edge and Olsen on the eastern side,near Red Mountain. The cooler climate andexceptional terroir at Red Willow contributeelegant floral aromatics and bright citrus flavors,while the warmer, south-facing slopes of Olsenyield ripe melon and tropical fruit notes. Thisvintage was aged for six months in a mix of vesselsto achieve depth and balance: 58% used Frenchoak, 26% stainless steel, 9% new French oak, and7% concrete egg. The concrete enhances mouthfeellike oak while maintaining the pure aromatics ofstainless steel. The new French oak imparts subtlelayers of sweet spice and added texture, while theused oak component enriches mouthfeel withoutoverwhelming the wine’s natural character.Stainless steel preserves the delicate aromaticsand brings a vibrant freshness to the palate.Fermented dry over three months at lowtemperatures, this Viognier retains its elegantaromatics. Through fermentation, gentle leesstirring enhances texture and complexity. Once thewinemaking team determines the optimal balance,malolactic fermentation is halted, and the wine isthen filtered prior bottling.TASTING NOTESBeautiful brightness in the glass with a nose thatreveals layers of ripe peach, delicate orangeblossom, apricot, jasmine, and subtle vanillanuances.
