The vineyard is tucked away in the far northwest corner of the Carneros appellation on a gradual slope that faces east. The soils here are very well-drained, with tightly packed volcanic boulders and cobbles braided throughout – a result of the Rodgers Creek Fault line which is adjacent to the vineyard. This site is directly influenced by the Petaluma Gap, causing the fog to develop early and recede late in the day. The gradual slopes and moderate microclimate allow for even vine growth and fruit ripening. While rich and full of flavor, the wines are built with a softer structure; finesse and grace. Pure fruit aromas of red cherry and red raspberry with a hint of floral spice begin the nose of this graceful Pinot Noir. The palate bursts with generous red fruit with subtle baking spice notes that lead to soft, velvety tannins. The wine has an inviting minerality that brings some verve and liveliness to this Pinot, which will contribute to the wine’s longevity. Only 495 cases produced.
